A lifelong and proud Baltimorean, Diana L. Spencer makes her living as a writer but has always enriched her life with visual and performing arts. Inspired by nature, architecture, and contemporary and tribal art, Spencer, a self-taught artist, creates mixed media wall sculptures often incorporating fibers and recycled materials. Her work is in numerous private collections and has been featured in group and solo exhibitions.
“In the process of mixing and matching, by establishing pattern and mood through use of materials, I reference traditional fiber arts. The depth, texture, rhythms and shapes formed as my pieces become whole reflect my meditations on relationships and other complexities of life.
